phoenix chicken coops

So you’re ready to buy a Chicken Coop in Phoenix , AZ?

(if you’re not the analytical type, stop right here and just call me, lol 623-806-5689)

Whether you’re new to this or been there done that we all can learn a few things from those that have made mistakes and learned to improve. What I’d like to share with you is some things to consider before buying a coop.  Now, if you have already purchased the chickens and now you’re scrambling to find a coop that will suit all your needs then don’t worry, you’re among the majority and I know I will be able help you and quick.  First, it would be a good idea  to write down some of the following things so that when we talk we can more quickly find a coop that is just right for you:

1.How many chickens do you have or plan to have in the near future? Remember that a hen will lay an egg every 24-36hrs. so if you want 4 or 5 eggs a day for breakfast then it would be good to start with 8 hens. Another thing to consider is that if you have multiple generation or types then typically the hens will fight and make life very difficult on one another.  In this case and if you have more then 8 hens it would be a good idea to either get two smaller coops or one large coop that has a separator added so that the hens will have a choice when perching at night.

2.Will your coop be stationary or will it need to be moved from time to time?  There is great benefit in both of these options but this will probably depend on your available space and time allocated to the hens.  The coops that I primarily display on my home page have both these options in mind. If you have a chicken tractor in mind which means that the coop can be easily moved around the yard every couple days to spread the fertilizer and give the hen new bugs to eat while keeping them safely in the comfort of the coop then my 6ft wide models are very practical for this.  They are light enough to be dragged with a dolly or wheels can be fixed to easily roll the coop. For most people, due to space limitations or preference, they just open the front door of the coop in the morning and allow the hens to graze in a secured fenced or run area. For those that prefer an all in one enclosure I would recommend going with the largest coop I deliver as of today and that’s the 8ft wide and 4ft deep coop.  If the hens will be in there all the time then maybe 4 or 5 would be good for that size and then either attach more coops or enclosures to accommodate more birds. Either way, I know I can help you down the right path or build one for you.

3.Why not make a coop large enough to walk into? I do get this question quite a bit and I want to first say that I do offer and show two coops on my home page that are 6ft high, but I would like to at least ask  a couple questions to find out what your thinking. Are you thinking that your hens will be in the coop all the time and from time to time you would like go inside to handle them? If yes, then maybe the 6ft high coop will be great for you. But if you’re think that you’re a fairly tall person and you don’t want to crouch down to clean the coop out from time to time then I would like to tell you that with my coops dimensions, the side door access for the eggs and the wide door their is no need to walk into the coop and possibly bringing something harmful into the coop and likewise bringing something smelly into your house from the coop.  All water and food dishes can be accessed from the door and a small rack can easily clean the coop all from the comfort of the door way without bending down. The hens certainly don’t need more then 4ft high so it does become open air unless you have plans to put storage shelves in. Also, the extra height does make the coop a little top heavy and may require some anchoring during the windy seasons. I hope I haven’t discouraged you one way or the other but that you’re reaffirmed that the coop you have in mind is perfect for your needs.

Now you have some good notes and a little clearer picture of what you’d like to do its time to give me a call and get all confused all over again.  lol. Hopefully not. If you’ll give me a chance I’m sure I can get you started with the best coop for the money.  Its my aim to offer a coop for every budget and its my guarantee that my coops are the best value for the money.

Welcome to Phoenix Chicken Coops

Thank you for visiting Phoenix Chicken Coops. It’s our goal to provide a local source for great looking and affordable chicken coops.  We specialize in coops that are “starters” by nature, for those who need something quick and maybe who would like to save a little money by doing somethings themselves like painting or roofing.  We also of course offer these upgrades for those who want a “turnkey” coop, but as experienced builders starting a new business we mostly display the most affordable options to get you started.

If you are looking for something more custom we would of course appreciate the opportunity to earn your business in building a coop that fits all of your needs and situation.  Take a look at our custom chicken coop page to view what we have done most recently. For the price, I don’t think you’ll find a more affordable option to getting started in the Phoenix valley.

When looking for a chicken coop in Phoenix here are some considerations before picking a coop:
* How many chickens will be living in this coop?
* Will they be living in the coop all the time?
* Will there be a rooster?
* Will I need to have something that will protect my chickens from dogs or big predators?
* Will my coop need to be mobile or stationary?

Above you can look through some of our chicken coop designs or watch a walk through video below.  We hope that you see something you like after looking around the website.  We invite you to give us a phone call or text message at 623-806-5689 .  If you click this button you can fill out the “Contact Us” form

Own a custom chicken coop in Phoenix Arizona

The basic model coop seen in this video is one of our most popular coops for many reason:

1. The best value for a chicken coop that I’ve seen

2. Great construction with an all framed structure and lots of screws

3. Gives the buyer lots of options to add to their coop when they are ready but still giving them a great functional coop

4. More then just functional, I find this to be the most practical coop design for many reasons:

A.) Open style for great ventilation

B.)Perfect size to move or relocate in the future

C.)Heavy duty to protect from all kinds of predators.
